A Matter of Balance is a program that emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. Attendees will learn to view falls as controllable, set goals for increasing activity, make changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
The Living Well Alabama workshop is an education program for people with one or more chronic conditions. The course is facilitated by two leaders who are trained in Chronic Disease Self-Management.
The new A Matter of Balance orientation class will be Tuesday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. in the Activities Center. Classes will be Tuesdays and Fridays for eight sessions beginning Tuesday, October 16.
The new Living Well orientation class will be Thursday, October 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Activities Center followed by six sessions on Thursdays starting October 18.
There is a limit on the number of people who can participate in a class, so please sign-up soon by calling the Education Office at 342-5349, emailing Olna at owoodall@ shbc.cc or calling Olna at home at 476-6812.
