The Cost: $1250
The Need: Approximately 40% of people in the Dominican Republic are living in poverty and do not have access to basic needs such as shelter, food, clothing, education and medicine. The area around Azua, Domincan Republic will be the focus of this trip.
The Ministry: The goal is to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, educational and medical needs of families with the intent to give them the tools needed to become all they are designed to be in Christ without creating dependency.
Who Can Go?: Most of the work for this trip will be light construction, but construction skills are not necessary. Work may include carrying light weight styrofoam blocks or rebar, mixing concrete in a power mixer, sealing concrete, painting, etc. Students over the age of 15 may go with their parents.
Partner in ministry: Orphan’s Heart, an international childcare program established by the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes in 2008 with the mission to provide for the physical and spiritual needs of orphaned and disadvantaged children in the developing world.
